pin inside by front sprocket

my chain broke this morning and it also broke of my shifting pin if that is what it is called. It is located just ahead of the front sprocket it is about 4 in long. Could you please tell me the correct name for this part so i can order it Thank you

are you talking about the clutch pushrod or the shaft that the shifter bolts on to?

some one please help me. I live in a small spot but lots of dealers but a lot of waste of time. I'v tryed 11 spots this evening my phone bill is gonna be $$$. I'm even calling dealers about 8 or 9 hours from me and they still don't have a clue. Is there like a real name for this. and theres a guy around here that can pretty much make anything with metal could he make one of these or best not too??? Someone find me a place where i could get one of these?? Thanks

what is #4 on that diagram? Is there a chance it could fall out? I found a 2-2.5in metal pin on the ground under my bike the day after I crashed it but don't know if it's from the bike or just a random metal piece that was already on the ground...

#4 is inside the tranny. It is what the shifter dogs rotate on.

sounds like he is describing the clutch push rod.
there are 2 push rods #'s 19 and 20. 20 being the one that i lost when the chain jumped the rear sproket. its the one that pokes out the seal next to the sproket and the clutch throwout assembly #24  the ball bearing things are inside assembly #24, there are spiral cut channels the balls roll in and force the insert out when rotated. kinda like a screw in design, but these are much easyer to work. hope this helps

Sorry if I'm beating a dead horse, but this thread made me think of the good old days when davipu was a NOOB who didn't know how to post pictures....  (Just kidding Dave!  :kiss: )

Anyway, see this post for pictures of the clutch rods that fell out of his engine when he was wrenching on it.  Maybe it will help in positively identifying the parts that jefferygs500 has been talking about?  :dunno:
