ok so i figured it would save a lot of space if i just made a thread that would cover my questions as they arise.

aparently when the boulder smashed into my tank it also took the two little plasic things that join the tank to the rear plastics.  any suggestions on how to fix it?  i dont have a new tank yet so i might end up gettin an 01+ tank and fit it.  whichever comes first i'll take

ok so i've decided to keep my posts contained in this thread like my original idea.

back to the tail plastics.  ive thought of one idea.  i could drill a hole in the plastics right through the spot where the tank holes are and just throw a bolt in.  now this is ugly and a pain in the ass so i will take any suggestions.  i'd really like to be able to take them on and off as intended.

so the caliper problem is fixed i guess.  i decided to jsut ride it and see what happens.  seems to work fine except i think the rotor may be a little warped.. it pulses a very little bit.

upon riding it for the first time tonite since the crash i ran into a major problem.  i have really bad headshake. when i let my hands off, immediately the bars shake violently almost making me lose control.  bent forks?

...  You have a pre-'01 right?

On my '01, there isn't anything that connects the rear plastics to the tank...  So, if you end up getting an '01+ tank, wouldn't you have to connect the plastics...

Ok... That wasn't really any help, but I've been   and I'm bored at work........   10 min..... tick tick tick.

yes i have an E so it would require adjustment to make an 01+ tank fit.  at this point i have no money to dump into a new tank, regardless of teh style nor do i have the money for new plastics so im jsut trying to rig it as best as possible.

The carrier might be bent. They can be straightened with a hammer. Take a sharpie marker hold it against a fork tube with the tip just touching the rotor. Spin the wheel and let it mark the rotor. This will show where it is bent. I have done this to fix slighty bent rotors without any problems.

The forks could be twisted in the triples but it is possible that you have a bent tube. I would pull them out of the triples and check them.
Common sense in not very common.
