Manufacturer # 12029 for GS500
I am currently trying to order a new one to replace a scratched one(someone knocked my bike over, so it's on their bill). I contacted a local V&H dealer who spoke directly with the factory.
V&H is making 100 of these...thats it.
They should be available around July 15th.
According to him, the factory only makes these once a year, then ships them out to various distributors, so if you're thinking about it, get your orders in.

How bad is the scratched one? Is it for sale?  :P
Richard died in a motorcycle accident that was at no fault of his own.  We lost a good friend and good member of this board.  Though Rich may be gone, his legacy will live on here.

I might sell my slightly scratched one and replace it too -- the header paint has surface rust bubbling under it, and depending on the cost of getting it media blasted and re-painted, since it's way too hot in my garage w/ no AC to strip + paint it myself, I might just go with new.

depending on how smoothly this guy pays for the damage, and once my new one is in, I will probably put up the old one-obviously not until middle of July....the can is scratched, and there is a small dent in the pipe, but other than that its great, no rust, sounds great!

only problem w/ just getting the can is its RIVETED on, so its not really a DIY project...

I had one on order for a month and a half, finally canceled order.

Good luck if you can get one. I strongly suggest the wileyco can, and a flange. Very easy install.

Oh I did it my self within an hour.

Drill the old rivets out, quite easy with the right size drill bit.

Go to Wal-Mart buy there cheapy little rivet gun for the $8.00 Or $9.00.

Few squeezes later, new can.
BTW if you order from the link I gave above, it comes with the nameplate too.
