I went around a turn a bit too fast yesterday, and just leaned firmly... and my right foot started chattering against the road  :o .  I straightened a bit to stop the chattering.

Looking over my boots (Vertebra 2), there is a little flat spot worn into the toe slider (very small... maybe 3mm wide).  The odd thing, is that the underside of my peg isn't scraped at all, and I don't recall feeling the peg lift.  Besides taking the corner with too much lean, I guess that means that I had my toe sticking-out too?  I ride with my left foot a bit pidgeon-toed, but by right foot pointing pretty straight forwards.  Either I need to toe-in the right foot also, or else maybe I inched it out a bit in the lean?

It sounds like I have some things to work on (including judging corners better).  Maybe I should mount a video camera to watch whether I move my feet around too much in turns, or something.

I have done this loads of times, just need to make sure feet are on pegs properly. I think the bike can lean quite a bit more before the pegs touch.

OK, there is a small bit of wear on the right-side peg, but I can't tell if it was there before.  I paid attention to my right foot this morning, and it does want to shift around a bit.  I'll try to keep it in place.

BTW, I have been getting tempted to wear the Sidi's just on the freeway.  Now I'm pretty committed to wearing them around town too.  Gear is good!

Nothing wrong with scraping feet, its just an early warning that you are reaching that maximum lean angle, id rather scrape my feet than pegs, and i do that very often, scrape feet that is.

If you want an extra 5 degrees or so on your lean angle hang your butt off the edge of the bike in the direction of the turn.

If you want to keep your boots looking nice, then put your toes on the pegs rather than mid-foot when you're taking a hard corner...

But...  I think I'd rather scrape a little toe than a little peg...   :dunno:

Only over 60mph.

I've been doing so much commuting that when I hit the hills I forget to move my feet back, so the balls of my toes (not the toes themselves) are on the pegs, instead of 'covering' the brake.
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

good judgement trumps good skills every time.

yeah, your foot is too far forward on the peg, rearsets help this too.
Accelerate like your being chased, Corner like you mean it, Brake as if you life depends on it.
Ride Hard...or go home.

Its you Vs the pavement.....who wins today?
