It's raining inside my helmet......

I tried to outrun a thunderstorm.  Didn't make it.  Nothing like a good soaking on the way to meet a pretty girl.

Anyhow,
Rain outside = rain inside, on my visor right in my line of vision.  I have a KBC VR1.

Any solutions without using words like "Shoei" or "Arai" ?

I'm  a poor boy at the moment......

Thanks!

first, are you sure your visor was completely closed? I've thought mine was when it was actually 1/4in open still.

Barring that, i've heard you can put a piece of masking tape along the upper edge of the rubber surrounding the opening on the front of the helmet to seal it better.

also you might try closing the upper vent.  I ride rain or shine cause the Jeep is too thirsty for my income right now and in a heavy rain water comes in through the upper vent and drips right in front of my field of vision.  Just a thought.

Duct tape around the top of your visor too

you know a strip running across the top of the visor and onto your lid

I also have a KBC V1 and you have been given good advice above. Turn off the top vents at the rear if the weather is really chucking it down, I also suspect a not-quite sealed shield as the main culprit. I pull up my collar under the back to stop the dreaded updraft, too.
Carry a towel to mop off the seat when it gets wet while parked .... perhaps it could be used to dry hair?

vega, is how I solve my weather problems.

I've only ridden in the rain a few times, but have never had any problems with water getting into my helmet.  I wear HJC's CL-14 (cheap helmet-like $130).    Just close the visor and the vents...

Duh,
Got it-- when it's raining, close the holes (vents).

I'm in Michigan, so I'll find out if that's the answer soon.

Thanks!!

Easier (and safer) to test your settings in the Shower.   :)

Later today we Michiganders get a dose of Thunderstorms.  I don't know about you but getting rained on in a torrential downpour is not my idea of fun.

Still, for the sake of running an experiment, the engineer in me says go for it...

scorpion makes a good seal and offers an anti-fog shield ideal for rain weather..

i personaly have a suomy for dry days and a scorpion for wet...

the suomy is a very expensive helmet (roughly $550?) I work at Barney's so it was $150. THe scorpion was $200 without discout. Suomy's helmet is very comfortable and has an insane anti-fog shield.

For the money scorpion is a great choice, very comfortable removable washable padding, great rain seal around the visor keeping wet weather out.
vents for cooling anti-fog visor and a great price...

There is one problem I have seen with the suomy.... the strap for your neck is set a little farther back than a scorpion and it can be annoying when i try to swallow as my addams apple hits it
