gotta ask, why would a Harley dealership (or any dealership for that matter) refuse to service a bike? be very careful

Being a dry sump you will probably have to empty the oil tank beneath the seat and replace the filter I've never had to service a harley before only fit exhaust pipes, handlebars and a small T piece for oil under the motor ***NOTE*** check that T piece they can be made of plastic, they become brittle and crack and you get a garage floor full of oil in the morning very important you check it, do you and your mate a favour tell him to sell the POS as I told my friend to do he didn't listen at first and when he finally did he was sorry he didn't listen, he had forgotten bikes can actually handle, stop and go unlike harleys which are best at the side of road with a ciggy or out front of a cafe sipping lattes

hes not going to sell this harley that hes owned for the last twenty years. I find it strange that the dealership outright refuses to service older model Harleys where my shop across the street (Barneys) will service any year bike that parts can be found for.

I tried to bring my bike to a Suzuki dealership in the Twin Cities (MN) for service while discovering goat's syndrome.

I was NOT happy when I came in for my appointment and they told my that my 93 was too old to be serviced. Between that and screwing up parts orders, I don't plan on going back to that dealership unless there is no other choice. Fortnately, there are multiple dealerships in the Twin Cities. There were others who also told me that my bike was too old to be serviced but they had the courtesy to tell me that over the phone.

The rationale I was given is that a lot of older bikes are rusty and leave a mess. The dealerships just don't want to deal with it. The dealership I like told me that its a case by case thing but they won't let anything too decrepit into their shop.

How lame are the service centres over there? not wanting to work on an older bikes do they live in Ivory towers and can just turn away paying customers. I have never known anyone who has been turned away for servercing the dealers here will climb over one and other to get the work but that is there bread and butter here so they will take anyone.
I guess when you live in a country with so many people they can get picky but it still sucks :x

not that way with Barney's, If the parts can be found we will work on the japanese bike regardless of age.
