There comes a time in one's life where they do something stupid and rip a hole in their riding gear....So consequently one must buy new gear.....Does anyone have a Joe Rocket Blaster 2.0 jacket? How do you like yours?

I always thought a leather jacket is best protection-wise but the Phoenix is awlful tempting..How does its mesh outer layer hold up? I like the fact its waterproof inner liner is also included + my wallet likes it better but what is the compromise between the Phoenix and Blaster 2.0? Any other jackets worth considering?

I think I'm sold on a Phoenix jacket-Thank for everyone's input

My chest is 42...says 40-42 =medium, 42-44=large.....Where's the arm length factored in? does a 28.5" arm qualify me as a large? assuming bent at elbow 90* from base of neck to wrist....I really wish there was a motorcycle shop close by :guns:

Do you get dri-rider jackets over there if so try for one of those they are great they have a big following in Australia and are used by most of the long haul riders they are comfy and waterproof and have a removable thermo liner inside them. I had a freind crash with his on not a heavy crash but when he got up the only thing you could see on his jacket was a tiny scuff on the wrist section otherwise you couldn't tell he just slid for about 15 feet and he just got up pick up the bike and rode off no problem of course they come standard with full body armour although they can get a bit warm on hot days but what jacket dosen't.
Yes I know air vent jackets  :thumb:

I have a Dririder Drimesh jacket and it's the best jacket that I have ever owned keeps you cool in the summer when you take out the liner and warm and dry when it rains.   I got caught riding to work one morning when this huge down pour started by the time i got to work the only thing that was wet was my knees because my jeans weren't waterproof but the rest of my upper body completely dry my helmet felt more like a goldfish bowl.  So if you can find one of these get one they come in all different colours.
Don't get caught with your bike down :)

My husband and I both have the Phoenix jacket and love them.  The are really comfortable.  Last year while on a ride to Deals Gap we ran up and a young couple riding and one a crashed and burned on the Parkway with a Phoenix jacket on.  He went down pretty hard and only had road rash where the jacket didn't cover.  The jacket did have a hole in the outer layer where he had slid.  But over all he was very happy with the performance of the jacket.  Don't know how well the waterproof liner works as we don't have one.  Good luck.

The liner that comes with Phoenix 3.0 works very well.  So far it had kept me dry on almost every occasion, even in heavy downpour.  It is also very effective at stopping the wind.  The only downside is that if you sweat or if the inside of the jacket becomes too humid, the liner sticks to you and becomes very hard to take off, especially at the sleeves.  The Phoenix mesh jacket is ok, but the liner is awesome.  You can even wear it away from the bike = less stuff to pack.

Btw, the liner tends to run smaller than the jacket.
