Has anyone that's installed drag bars noticed a significant increase in vibes felt in their hands?  I'm not sure if it's because those heavy bar-ends aren't installed or what, but man!  About 4k thru 6k those babies are hummin'!  And, yes, everything is tight and adjusted (as much as possible).  I couldn't put my brake lever down as far as I wanted because of interference with the 3tree.

Yes ... they make the buzziness far more acute ... Somehow your wrist angle makes a big diff, and if you're 30-35 degrees back and not that wide apart ... ~24 inches between fists ... the vibes are gentlest. Being bent over forward more places more weight and hence acts as a stabilising weight ... so bar end weights ... big deal ... wont make any diff ... That 30 to 35 angle was experimentally arrived at after many many tries ... Heck I have some nice 28 degree bars that dont work as well ... 32-33 degrees is near about ideal ... My 90, 91, 94, 95 whatever was the same way ... drag bars are actually worse than stock ...

The bar ends help with vibration...  and the...  Uh...  Bar Snake or something...

GT Eye

I got these really low bars (is that what drag bars are?) and the vibration is very acute. Also, if you're not careful, your wrists will be sore as hell!

Drag bars are pretty much straight ... OK they have like a 10 degree bend in them ... Not even close IMHO ... to make it tolerable ... OK I should probably try to sell my 2 weld bars to that guy ... but OK try the 2 welds ... dont change a thing except the bars ... and compare the vibes and write up a comparison ... how's that for a plug ...
Cool.

OK, I'll put some pics up, but it'll be later on in the weekend.  I'm going to the lake tomorrow and try to fix my dang boat.  My 'cycle is the only motorized piece of equipment that's not on the fritz right now.  If it ain't one thing it's another around here!

I'm also going to cut the bar end mout plug thingy out of my old bars and metal set them in the drags to hard-mount install them & see how much that helps.  I like the lay out of the drags, but if I can't get the vibes down, I'll be looking at some renthals next week.

So.....may be sunday on the pics.  I'll have to clean the 'ole girl up, first.  I've been puttin' the miles on 'er here lately.

I just installed some CR bend MSR bars to see if I like them.  I had them from my last ATV (03 Blaster).  I like the feel but I can't install the bar ends due to the smaller inside diameter bars.  I figured I would try these while I'm waiting on the srinath 4 weld bars.

If anything, vibes on mine went away.  I've got the wide center Flanders drag bar with 30 degrees (maybe 35) pullback.  The Flanders bars are pretty heavy and I only put the LP delrin bar-ends on mine.  My only problem is that I hate riding long distance with them because my right wrist cramps up

That is what happened to me with my stock bars.  I am used to riding mountain bikes and ATV's with the straight style bars and I couldn't get used to the stock style.

The flanders bars are good, $$$ but good ... $60 or so right ... or atleast they are from my local dealer ... and the 30 degree and 9 inch in the center also make it fit better ... mine are the same 9 inch but they have a 2.5 inch forward offset on 4 welds and 1.5 on 2 welds If memory serves ... 2 welds are 32 or so degrees, 4's are 37 or so.
Cool.

I paid $38 for mine brand new from a local store and they are worth every penny :)

They are worth it ... yes I know ... cos my 2 welds are very close ... imagine ... the same as Flanders ... but 1.5 inches forward ...    ... See I dont make this stuff up ... Oh well I do ... but its got serious research behind it ...
Cool.

I don't think I could reach my bars comfortably if they were much farther forward
Andy

The Buddha

If you want comfort ... buy a Minivan ...
Anyway ... forward makes it more aggressive and places more weight on the front wheel and lowers the CG and moves it forward ... all are factors for sharper handling ... comfort is the casualty ... but having that extra bit of wind off your chest should make it far less of a discomfort ... Yea general idea is close enough ... you are lower than stock ... and more forward ...
Cool.
