Front Brake

I know very little about how these brakes work and what different sounds mean... sometime after taking off from a stop i hear a rubbing sound as my disk goes through the caliper... if i apply the front brake the sound usually goes right away... any ideas?

It might be the normal "shushing". Does it sound like that? "Shush, shush, shush"?

i had those spaced out but i guess they correct that...

point being it goes faster as i go faster

Yep, that sounds like a brake disk being accelerated past the pads. It's good that sound accelerates when you accelerate.

ok, i just didn't know that it was supposed to be touching the pads if i wasn't braking

Just as long as it's not actually slowing you down. If it is, then something is blocking the return circuit in the master cylinder. Or, your disk warped. If it's warped you'll feel a pulsing when you brake at slow speeds.
