Hey guys,

I own a 2004 gsf and have a problem. I was out riding for about 45 minutes with no problem at all, then after starting from a light, the bike started to sputter and almost died, so me thinking i was out of gas, switched to reserve. To my shock, it did absolutely nothing, so me again thinking maybe i had no gas left, turn into a parking lot. I opened my gas cap to find there was still gas left. I figure maybe i had got bad gas from the station. I start the bike up, and nothing is wrong, running perfectly. SO i get back on and ride another 3 km after its running mint, then it down it again, so i pulled over again, and then tried to put the petcock to PRI and RES and nothing is working at all. It keeps sputtering. I had pulled over in a gas station this time, and decide to fill up with gas  hoping maybe it would work   On my way home, the bike is running perfectly, so i decide to give it WOT, and there it is again, sputters and wants to die. After downshifting cauz i was almost stop she runs again. I discovered that it starts to die ONLY after 5500 RPM. I can ride with no problem below 5500 RPM, but anything after that, she wants to cut off. This is aparently a fuel starvation problem right? I need to get to work tomorrow with it, so i hope i could fix this tonight if possible, otherwise i wil be going slow on the highway. lol. Could anyone help me out?

Thanks guys.
Sorry for the length.

Stefan.    :dunno:

Have you done anything to your carbs recently (rejet, rebuild etc.)? Have you checked to make sure that there isn't a kink in one of the fuel lines? Do you have an inline fuel filter?

I have the same problem...

Anywhere above 50 Mph for more than 1 min or so, and it starts bucking and jumping around.

I do have an inline fuel filter, But I dont want to take it out cause my tank has been Kreamed and there may still be crap in there.

What can I do to keep a filter in there but still resolve my starvation problems?

My bike runs on Prime all the time, due to leaky petcock diaphragm.
