I went to an outlet mall today and bought a shirt, and put it under the cargo net on my bike. It got me thinking... That's the best $6 I've spent on a motorcycle accessory so far.
I'm wondering what you all consider to be your can't-live-without accessories, on the cheap side (say, $50 or under).

I'd also put my little Cortech tank bag on that list too. Can't live without it.

You spent $6 on a bungee net?! Jkidding! ;)  I still have one since '88 (red, to match SRX250), but I can't remember how much (probably $3 back then). I had bought another one to replace it, but it's in a box still waiting to be used!

Edit: Holy cats! I just realized that that bungee net has outlived the motorcycle it was intended for! (14 years!)
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

My backpack. I got it in '98 for school and used it a lot. 7 years later I found it under my bed and decided to use it on the bike. Total cost to make it compatable with the GS5= $0. Lucky!!!

I have to go with the back pack.  Ever try to fit a 12 pack of MDG under the bungee?

Why not just carry it in your stomach?

I've gotten a 24-pack case under the bungees, and 3 2-liter bottles at another time point. ;)

I put two strips of electrical tape across the top 1-inch of my visor.  Now I can tilt my head down a bit to block the sun.

For shopping, a tankbag and tailbag ($34 each, I think) are great:  I frequently fit two 1-gallon milk jugs in one bag.  Big cereal boxes, frozen pizzas and baguettes go in a large (but cheap) backpack.

For winter riding, a polar-fleece pullover and neck-gaiter were cheap must-haves.

I visited about 6 stores, trying on sunglasses (while wearing my helmet).  The pair that fit the best cost $6 at a Harley dealership.

the hwy pegs and the throttle lock.

natedawg120

backpack and metric tool kit, in the back pack.  There is still enough room to toss all kinds of misc stuff in there :)

i'd have to say throttle lock and bungie.  fleace neck gator in the winter is great.  but ultimately the best of the best thing i have is my coolmax underwear.  i like it so much i bought more.  now i wear them for work too! no more swamp ass :)

I'm going to regret this, I know, but... Please define swamp ass...

1. swamp ass
An unfortunate condition in which the taint (the often hair-bespeckled, flrshy space between balls and ass) is wallowing in the depths of a vile, festering, putrid poo swamp. A generally uncomfortable, unwipable ass. The only cure is gold bond.

i always took it to be jsut sweaty down there.

EDIT: at work we use high powered air hoses.  just stick one in my pocket and ur good for 20 min or so on the hot days.  no gold bond for me.
