There was a good Cycle World article on this a couple of months ago. According to it, the speedometer error is mainly a liability issue, though most of the bikes were off by under 7%. Suzuki could certainly build a speedometer that wasn't off, but it's a much safer bet for them not to.

I like it though: When else can you cruise at "90" without constantly scanning for that Crown Vic on the shoulder?
