1989 gs500. blows black smoke

ive adjusted the pins on the bottom of the carb all the way in, it still blows black smoke and flames out the exhaust. it seems to run alright besides that. i just bought some carbs tried them on the bike and it wouldnt run. i took all the stuff off the new carbs put them on my old carbs and it runs but very rich.

Indeed black smoke indicates a very rich mixture. Is your air filter clean? Spark plugs ok?
