bike...

This is for NOOBs like me.  I just got done (I hope) with figuring out the problem with my bike.  A few weeks ago, I decided to clean my carbs and I haven't been able to get the bike to keep running for more than a few minutes.  I finally figured out what I had done wrong putting the carb back together.  The moral of the story:

Invest in a digital camera. Why?

Take pictures of your bike before you screw it up more than it is.  It will give your wife something to scrapbook.

Take pictures as you work on your project.  It will help you figure out how to put things back together.  (Which was my problem since I had never worked on a carb before)

Take pictures so when you are asking for help folks can see what you are talking about.

My two cents.

Thanks to everyone for the help with my bike.  Although, I am being a little premature since I haven't actually taken it for a ride yet.  (I am home with the kids this morning)  But I am pretty confident.  The bike is purring and begging me to go out.  This website is a great resource.  THANKS!!!

Good advice. On this site I think you are leaning on an open door.

Yeah, I am sure.  But that's why I say for new guys like me, new to riding, new to the website and new to working on bikes.  The bad thing is that I thought about taking some pictures but I didn't realize what I was getting into until it was too late.  Now I will keep the camera handy so that I don't waste the limited gorgeous days here in Germany.
