Please post reviews.  I need to buy tires and want to try something different.  I want to stick with stock sizes.  I currently have BT45's and have been very pleased.  The price for a set of Avon's ( $120.98 ) is excellent.  I like to ride in all weather conditions and I am not racer boy.  I do enjoy aggressive twisty roads but at sane speeds.   Tha MAXXIS would run $76.98 a set  :o

I am also interested in the Michelin Pilot Active $185.98  Considerably more.

Any reviews or comments would be greatly appreciated.

i dont have alot of experience in this area but have done a lot of reading and question asking... I found most suggest.. either get bt45's, avon am51/52, or pirelli speed demons

it seems the speed demons are pretty highly favored with avons right behind...

right now you can get Avon (110/70-17 & 130/70-17) from AmericanMotoTire.com for $105.00 + shipping

Pirelli Speed Demons (same size) from AmericanMotoTire.com for $152.67 + shipping

Because of the price difference i just ordered the Avons

hope this helps

I picked up a pilot road yesterday (front )  I still need to find a good rear though.

Well, you never hear much on the Maxxis tires, so I'll chime in. I bought a set to replace my old beat up tires that were on the bike when I got it. Night and day.. the Maxxis Promax in the stock sizes improved the bike tenfold. Then I bought the dark colored wheels with BT45s already mounted. I think the Maxxis' were better... I've had more rear end sliding w/ the BT45s compared to the Maxxis tires. I haven't tried the Sport Demons, but I hear good things on those too. The search button is your friend. You'll find enough info to keep you busy all afternoon reading. Good luck.
