So my bike's been acting up the last month, and practically not running the last two weeks.  Initiallly I cleaned the carbs, replaced the air filter, and replaced the spark plugs.  And I did it all as described in the haynes repair manual and this website... Then two weeks ago it was very difficult to start my bike, and I was lucky if it would start on a pushstart.

there's my bike parked next to my dirty toyota in the carport

(notice the water bottle - it was 105 degrees outside)

so I kreemed my tank and replaced the fuel lines last week

and cleaned the carbs, again

then I replaced the spark plugs, again (there was only about 500 miles on those).
My bike started right up after this. Does the one on the left look carbon-fouled?

So my question is: Since my bike started acting up when I had about 400-450 miles on the new plugs, will it happen again with the newer ones?  They are gapped to specs, and are the recommended heat range.  I hope to figure this weirdness out.
Anywho, I'm gonna go riding for the first time in two weeks :)

Jazzzzz

The plug on the left is not carbon fouled - if anything, it looks like it's been run a little lean for a while

Just a guess here...were the plugs gapped correctly?  My bike was rough to start when I bought it (7200miles), and just re-gapping the plugs made a world of difference.   And they were both pretty close to spec anyway.

Maybe the wires were just not seated correctly? Did you use that grease stuff on them?
