So, has anyone ridden one? I'm going to look at one tomorrow that isn't running... I'll have to see what that's all about when I'm there, but I'm wondering how much more of a kick in the pants it is over our beloved GS. It's a 400cc I4 w/ about 20 extra ponies.. but if you had one, you knew that already.

Anyway, just looking for a kind of comparo between the two and anything in particular to look out for that's specific to the Bandits. BTW, the tank will need  replacing, it has a big dent in it, anyone know off hand if the B12 or B6 tank would fit as a replacement.. I have a feeling it'll be hard to find parts for the B4 since I think it was only around one year in the states...

Sounds like a new project for me to tinker with anyway.. It's cheap and it's a pretty cool bike from what I can tell via my internet research. Anyway, I'll post back up tomorrow after I go look at it. Hopefully w/ good news

Parts are very hard to find, Im guessing that the computer dealy is out of it, when I was looking for wheels for my GS I read alot of wanted ads looking for those cpu deals that go out on them.

Jeppy

Very nice bike but like everyone else is saying....parts are hard to find.

Ok, thanks for the headsup on the computer. I'll research where that's supposed to be and make sure it looks good. Do they usually fail, or is it more of a crash replacement item? In other words, if it looks good, should it work?

Anyway, the guy hasn't called me this morning yet. I'm not looking for another huge project of the magnitude my GS was, but if it's in decent shape w/ just minor cosmetic and a little carb work, I can handle that. We'll see...

Hit up the Bandit Alley forums at http://www.banditalley.com -- they have a few US Bandit 400 owners who can point you in the right direction for ignition boxes and other goodies.  Most of the stuff has to be ordered from Europe :(

That's funny, that's what is open in my other window.

I assume the computer that you're talking about, sprint, is the "black box" ignition stuff. That's what I've been reading up on now... sounds like fun. Doesn't seem like an impossible problem though, looks like it can be fixed w/ a little electrical know-how.
