I went out and got my first bike. I wanted something cheap on insurance, good looks, and light weight. I have only ridden a couple different street bikes so I wanted a starter bike that would not bite me on the ass if I gave it too much throttle.

A new leftover 2004 GS500F,

Has any one changed their handle bars on a 04 or 05 to something a little more sporty?  Narrower?

smoked or color windscreen?

Funniest name I was ever called on here "cap'n fast n' furious"

A guy once told me "having nitrous on your car is alot like dating a hot girl with a STD, your afraid to hit it because of what might happen."

The '89 model came with clip on bars... save your time, they're too close to the tank on the '04.

Sinthrath makes a set of clip on's if you're interested...
Fett's (CRASHED) Ride-Flush Mounts, Aluizio Undertail, Aluizio Hugger, Wileyco w/flange, K&N, Sudco Jets, Custom Painted Tail & Fender, 2wheeljunkie LED Tails & Factory Clip-ons       Now I'm rolling an old school GSXR1100 w/1260cc kit built by Joe Marasco himself and two Harley 883 sportsters!

Yea I have SM knock off's ... They are free with purchase (made a few for SV guys and have 2-3 left over I believe ) They fit an SV just fine, but less than ideal on a GS. My true Clip on's are $60 ... and the SM knock off's are free with purchase of those. How's that for a deal.
Cool.

I had SV bars on my GS, the CM's, type 2 i believe. Comfortable as all hell, if you like a more leaned forward prone type position. Id go with the SM bars, but thats just me. Im planning on swapping out a gixxer front end on the SV im getting, so Ill be using clipons anyways, but if I was to get bars for the stock forks, I would go with SM again.

easy...nothing involved except some WD-40

and perhaps drilling some holes into the handlebar

the holes are predrilled (thank god)...the installation is pretty much straightforward.

just make sure that the master cylinder bajo bolt goes behind the instrument face cover.

hey, Srinath can i just get a set of the free ones?

Susuki_Jah

exactly how different are the 91 handle bars from the 04+   they almost look smaller in diameter. but it could be because the 500F is faired. looks wise i mean.
