i mean you paid 10 bucks big f%$king deal the parts are useable

you should have spent the 90 bucks for the bracket and another 200 for the tach if you wanted perfect

in my opinion they were worth every penny

i am sorry but stop bitching

blah blah blah.  read the f%$king post again.  i said i wouldnt pay MORE than 10 bucks.  i paid 40.  point is i got burned.  he adveritised something different then he sold me.   even if it was 2 bucks i'd be bitching.  and no the dash is not useable.  i tried for 20 minutes to get it to fit the buckets with no avail. its junk.

I don't think weazelnoze is so much worried about the cost, as much as he didn't get what he paid for. He paid for used parts in usable condition. Of course he didn't expect perfect condition; even Chevelle gave him a heads up that the iems were not perfect. But they were sold under the premise that they would be usable for weazel's bike and according to him, they are not.

He bought them to replace the wrecked parts of HIS bike. If he wanted wrecked parts, he would have kept his own and saved himself the $40. Not to mention the fact he waited for like EVER for the parts to come.

Hopefully next time he'll request pictures of the items. That should be standard selling practice anyway; you got something for sale, post a photo of it. If you're a buyer, ask for a photo if there isn't one :thumb:

I think weazel is also a little distraught that he trusted the seller because he is a GStwin member, and in theory, we gs guys gotta stick together and not rip each other off.

Mat, the point is that the part was not represented corectly.  Every person knows what is ok and what is trash.  But, yea if you want a part that looks like new, buy it from a dealer.

Another thought,  Does anyone ever get kicked from this forum.  I think this is the best gs site on the web.  Everyone seems to be honest and standup. Safety is key and there is LOTS of good advice.
It pains me to see something like this.

How did he ship the parts to you?
Do you have a shipping label, packing box, or anything with a return address or even a city, state or partial zipcode shipped/mailed from?

Have you tried to contact PayPal about this?

Without a way to narrow the area down to search for him it would be prohibitive to try with the info you have given. (AND cost more than $40.00 to use the databases I have access to for this.)

Toledo Jim

Weaze, another thought, (NOTE: Another reason I do not and will not use Paypal) can you get your bank or credit card co. to trace the payment you made to him?

Toledo Jim

BTW: smartpages.com shows 38 Blackwell's with initial M in Atlanta, Ga. and surounding area.

I only remember 2 people getting banned (same incident) since I've been around. It hasn't been that long but I get the feeling that bannination doesn't happen very often here. All in all, I think thats a good thing. Its too bad that something like this happened, but I don't think that banning chevelle would do anything.

Wasn't there something worse last fall? I remember someone taking payment from multiple people and not sending the goods. I don't remember how the situation was resolved, though.

all I'll say is that there is a definate difference between people as to what acceptable items are.....I'm going through a situation on ebay now where I bought a front fairing for my SV.....the seller listed as "basically new, no damage".....the fairing has little nicks, a few larger rubbings (through the paint), and a broken tab.....

...if I had known it was like that before, then I wouldn't have bid/bought it......which I think is the problem here.......if the seller doesn't disclose the damage to the items, they are lying.....which really ticks me off as a buyer......

.....that's why weazelnoze is upset, and rightly so.....as a seller, you have the responsiblity to provide accurate and truthful information about whatever you're selling.....I won't buy from chevelle.....and all you guys out there that say "well....it was only like $40"....why don't you fork up the $$ and buy the parts from weazelnose.......
PETE: It's four in the funking morning!

ED: Funk, yeah!

Sorry if you already tried this, but a screwdriver and some rags worked well for me. Just use the screwdriver (better if its a long one) as a lever and the rags to keep the paint from getting damaged. Then again, if you are going to repaint it (whichever one you use) anyways, the rags are kinda pointless, aren't they?

Well, what can I say at this point? Everyone's already got their image of me. I hadn't even seen this thread till Weasel PMed me: "Look for a thread with your name it it...".  I'm sorry, but I'd rather RIDE my bike than sit in front of a computer talking about it. So, I guess I'll start at the start.

1. Weasel, go back and check your PM's. You might remember me sending you one saying how the bezel is a little bent, but still useable after some elbow grease and a little paint. Remember that? I'd post it up, but the sentbox is so small, the PM isn't there anymore. So, besides the fact that I DID tell you it wasn't perfect: How long have you been working on bikes? Obviously, not very long. Like the man said, 5 minutes, a screwdriver, and a little paint, and it's good to go. You must not do too much to your bike unless you wreck it. I'm sorry you feel mislead, but I told you before what was up. If you didn't really read the PM or just skimmed through it, that's not my problem. Pay attention. Plus, Do you really think a perfect bezel, one of the most commonly damaged items on the bike, would sell for $10 in perfect condition? If it's $90 at the dealership, why would one in new condition be a tenth of that from a private seller?

2. You didn't pay $40 for it, you paid $10 plus $5 shipping, so stop crying about "$40".

3. We're all tight on money. 90% of GS riders are A. Learning to ride, or B. Tight on money. Then you have a few racers and oddballs here and there (Srinath, this means you, LOL). I'm not at all insulting the GS. I think it's a spectacular little bike and the best starter out there. It's kinda like the SV650: You won't hear a bad word about it. I work at a bike shop (Because I am in love with 2 wheels) and I always come across newbs looking for a first bike. The very first words out of my mouth are Suzuki GS500. I have an SV now but still have a blast on my GS and I still take it to the mountains sometimes and leave the SV at home. It's just a Great bike and super-easy to ride. But anyway, I don't need to tell you guys that: You all have one!

4. Thanx for posting my F_CKING name and addy. THAT'S a classy thing to do. I haven't gotten any hate mails, so if that was your intent, no dice. By the way, even I didn't know there were 40 M. Blackwell's around Atlanta. I might have some family I don't know about. Cool! Thanx for the tip!

5. Yes, it did take me a minute to actually send the parts. I don't argue that for a second. Weeks? Try again. It was not WEEKs before you got it. You sent payment and it was about a week before I was able to send it. I work almost exactly the same hours as the post office, so it's a bit difficult to get by there sometimes. I agree that a week is a long time to wait when you need parts. Part of my income comes from fixing bikes in my garage, so I know what it's like to wait on parts. However, I have already apologized profusely for the wait, Or did you not see that in your PM's either?

6. I guess you thought PM's were just too subdued to deal with a debocle of THIS magnitude.... I mean... We're talkin about 15 bucks here... Does it get any more serious? You would have been TOTALLY justified to come to my door and beat me down (good luck with that...) over 15 bucks... As we all well know, Kingdoms have risen and fallen over amounts as grand as 15 dollars, So of course, this is no laughing matter! I mean, It's not like I told you what shape it was in before you bought it....

Repair the item? What a silly idea! I'd rather make a thread and tell all of GStwin that THIS MAN, Mister Blackwell, has fooled me into buying an item so destroyed and so mangled that it is simply beyond repair. After all, it's not like I could send him some type of private communication voicing my grievances and negotiating some type of settlement. It's too bad there isn't such a system in place...

So I say Shame on me. I must be a horrible person for tricking you out of 15 DOLLARS in such an evil and deceitful way. I am most definitely deserving of a severe beating. I have only one request: Please don't take my lunch money. My mom would be sooo mad....

By the way, I'm being sarcastic....

Well, not much more to say. You chose NOT to contact me through PM's and to make this a public spectacle. For that, I should simply say "F_ck You, you don't get your money back." BUT, I know what it's like to buy something that's not what you thought it was (even though I told you what was up). So, in the spirit of good faith, and in an attempt to bury the hatchet, I'll eat the shipping, give you the part, and offer you your $15 back. My integrity is worth more than $15 to me.

Let me know what you wanna do. And this time, could you keep it to PM's?

hahahahahahahahaha, this is too funny  !weazlenose; is this true? i have to admit; i just came across this thread and from what i 've read ,i think i would have kept the correspondence in PM myself. But me personnally; i think i could have fixed the bezel. Don't get me wrong, you have the parts sitting in front of you so if there worst off than what the pictures dictate than your justifyed in your case (i guess :dunno: ) but if not..... :guns: j/k

Chevelle - instead of just eating the cost and keeping thsi going on yadda yadda yadda, and if you think it is fixable...why can't Weazel send it back to YOU and YOU fix it so it IS usable and send it back to him? He said he tried and tried and tried, and can't...but if you're so sure that it is fixable...why not do it? Or why didn't you fix it before you sent it as usable?  :dunno:

Kinda like when I sold my Zuma 50cc, I went out and tightened all the bolts, cleaned it up, checked the fluid levels, etc. etc., and made sure it was in the best condition it could be in before I sold it.
