Bought Joe Rocket Blaster pants today

I have the FirstGear HT Overpants, but find that they don't fit all that well -- great when it's -10 celcius and I've got multiple layers underneath, but not so great in the summer with just shorts.  They'd probably slip right off in a fall.  So for the last few weeks I've been commuting to work in jeans and not feeling all that safe about it.  I'd like to get a few track days in next year, so I thought it made sense for me to pick up some pants with a full zipper and also an 8 inch that will fit my joe rocket alter ego jacket for the time being.

Anyhow, I picked up the blaster pants today.  It was a toss up between the Teknic Chicane leather pants, AGV universal sport pants and the blaster.  Here's why I picked up the blaster pants :

- they fit me really well (waist, length, fit around the legs/calves)
- the price is right
- the quality seems to be pretty good (although, truth be told, I'm not a huge fan of the alter ego jacket I have)
- they're good street pants, which is a bit of a trade-off I guess.  No knee puck and definitely not of the same caliber as some of the alpinestar stuff, or even the JR Speedmaster pants, but good enough to take to the track

So far so good.  The elastic material behind the knees and around the crotch make them comfortable for street riding.  The waist really isn't very adjustable, so buy'em only if they fit snug.

I guess I'll need to invest in a leather jacket next year that can fit the full zipper in the pants.  The mating full zipper portion can be tailored to a jacket, and I'm hoping that the teknic chicane jacket will make a good combo.

I have read numerous bad things about the Chicane series of leathers having seams blow out/shred when the wearers crashed.  The Lightning and Violator stuff gets good reviews, but the Chicane leathers not so much.
