I was thinking about the next bike I am going to get but as I research it I am finding the 600cc class is really close in performance numbers to the 750.  So what advantages would i get from the 750 besides torque?  And how will this translate into a better experience?

The only thing I got from the Gixxer750 is that it was more comfortable.

hmm I thought they were about the same how did you find the 750 more comfortable?  Aslo I guess I wont have to come out of turns in as high of an rpm to maintain speed

dgyver

I disliked the way 600's need to rev'd to have any power, the 750's are about as bad. Peak hp number do not mean squat in real world street riding. It is were the most useable power is. I had a 2000 gix750 that was "the" bike to have when it first came out, according to the rags. I thought it sucked and hated it. I guess I will stay with twins and thumpers.
Common sense in not very common.

See the 1100 is heavier ... and probably handle bad compared to the newer 750's ... but its one of those that has plenty of power and torque everywhere and it gives you plenty of warning before it turns into a beast ... and best of all ... no need to rev it sky high before it makes power and no need to tap dance on the shifter in traffic/spirited riding ...

The seating position was, notably to me, slightly more upright; the seat was cushier=more comfortable; the back of the tank didn't have sharp edges that dug into the inside of my thighs. And, I'm 5' 10", 125lbs, 30" waist, so I'm narrow; this was at last years Cycle World International Motorcycle Show at the San Mateo Fairgrounds with 70 Cam Guy. Mental notes only. So the model in question would be an '05.

I'm at my racing weight. After all, I ride a bike with only 39hp.

Yeah, he threatens to do that a lot... *eep*

If they redo the GSXR-600 like they did the 1000 this year, I'll probably trade my SV in on one in a year or two.

I am also looking at the rc51 so really its between the gsxr and the rc51 but I have been hearing some bad things about the rc51 running real hot especially when pushed so it will probably be the gsxr 750.  I hope this year we see some changes from it as well.  I am going to wait untill the 06 specs ome out before making a decision

pantablo

www.rc51.org is the motherload of discussion forums for the rc. overheating my ass. those things are awesome but its a completely different animal to the gsxr, slower too.
