Quote from: dgyverNo. Flashing brake lights are annoying and confusing to the driver behind you, they do not know what you are doing. They are illegal in some states.
Another viewpoint:  I've driven behind a couple of bikes (and cars, even) with flashing brake lights, and I wasn't confused at all.  They get your attentions and make it quite clear that the bike was stopping.  I think most of the flashing brake lights I've seen flash a couple of times (to get your attention) and then go on steady.

I could see that the ones that flash a 1-2 times before going solid to could be beneficial.

The thing that eveyone need to realize that the driver behind you has to make a quick decision on what to do. If they see something that is out of the ordinary, the time it takes them to process the information may be too late. Also they are probably distracted as well....cell phone, kids, etc.
Common sense in not very common.

If a driver sees something confusing, the first thing he or she should do, of course, is slow down.  Of course, if drivers did what they were supossed to do, I guess we wouldn't be having this conversation. :)

Dgyver - Don't listen to him, what does he know? He is just a nood.
Richard died in a motorcycle accident that was at no fault of his own.  We lost a good friend and good member of this board.  Though Rich may be gone, his legacy will live on here.
