I have been looking for a caliper lock w/ and flashing LED on it?? or something like it. do they make one? I think that under a cover @ night it would flash nice and bright... Light up the cover a bit too. hopefully scare off any criminals   I dont want an alarm, just a flashing light w/ some sort of lock.

For now, I take a cable and wrap it around my bike.. over the seat and under the bike.. (outside the cover) through the cover gromet.. then lock it  :thumb: its long enough to double it, or tie the bike to a telephone pole or someting as well. But if they have some bolt cutters or something.. the bike is theirs I guess.

ANy more ideas? this is a great subject

Hey Tauruses may be great guns, but a .22 ain't gonna do a whole lot to a person.  I want something with some stopping power.  One shot = one kill.

Hi Point firearms also has a warrenty like that.  All Hi-Point Firearms carry a Lifetime, No-Questions Asked Warranty. If any Hi-Point Firearm is ever need of service, send it to us.  Whether you are the original purchaser, or a third-hand owner, your Hi-Point firearm will be repaired free of charge.  100% made in the USA right here in Ohio. :thumb:    I have shot the .380 and 9mm and love them both + you will love the prices.

Did you know that when Taurus started making guns they were on S&W machines.  S&W put a plant in Brazil then it was aquired with all its tooling.  I read this back in the 80's in one of my dads gunsmithing magazines.

I own a SS .357 with vent rib barrel that I take Deer hunting, 5 deer and counting.  I have owned a a couple Rugers(P89, P95, GP100), S&W, Beretta, and Browning pistols.  I still have the SS Taurus and a ss semi-auto S&W 22 lr.   My wife loves to go target shooting and she is a good shot.

I park my GS sideways all the way to the back of my parking stall in back of my car at my apartment complex and make sure I lock the handle bars. This way if someone really wants to take it, they have to lift it. It seems like it'd be pretty hard to do in underground parking. I also have a Scorpio SR-i300 alarm with perimeter sensor set to about 2 feet along with a Xena disc lock. No cover because I don't know how it would affect the perimeter sensor. At work, I just park it on the side of our office and keep both the alarm with perimeter sensor and disc lock armed. I'm close enough to the bike that I could hear any alarm going off. We're also pretty well guarded. I'd say, at the very least, take a look at the Xena disc lock with built-in alarm.

thats how I used to park my 600rr in my carport until someone tried to steal it. they would have had to lift it over two car hoods to get it out but they were apparently prepared to do that.

that titanuim padlock is going to be useless when they cut the cable it locks.

You might even be able to find it cheaper elsewhere, but that was the first site that came up when I googled the term { targa "lever lock" }. Choose the size you need depending on the overall diameter of your grip. Harley bars (1") with thick grips need the largest size made; your GS will probably require something smaller.

Also, any good bike cover will have grommets along the edge; use a padlock through the grommets directly under the center of the bike, and a second one elsewhere wouldn't hurt if the wind was blowing; I usually put my second one through the grommets right behind the front wheel.

If you use a combination padlock, you need to be able to remember the combination, and see the dial in order to unlock it, so you might want to carry a small Maglite; I use the 3-1/2" light that runs on a single "AAA" battery. If you use keyed locks, you have to be SURE that you don't lose the keys; otherwise, you'll need a hacksaw, smokewrench, or boltcutter handy.

Lastly, go to a hardware store and find suitable METRIC allen-head bolts (and the corresponding nuts and Allen-head wrench) to fit your plate mounting holes. Use TWO nuts on each bolt; tighten the inner nut against the outer nut, so they work as "jam" nuts, and the thieves will most likely go find an easier target.

Who said anything about a cable.  Lock one through the front side of the rear sprocket above the swingarm.  Them put one on the wheels rotor in front of the fork and one behind the caliper on the rotor.

Have you ever try cut one of those titanium pad locks?  At work we have a cheap set of bolt cutters.  Well we had to remove all of the pad locks from the lockers at work.  Out of all those locks there were three that were titanium.  you'd need a full bite on them with one of the handles against the wall or ground for leverage.  The last one screwed the blade up toward the tip and it was a small one.

But if they want it bad enough they will take it.

other than the high points being huge, they are ok guns. I still like mine made out of metal, but for the price they are really good. and you need a holster the size of a backpack.   they are so big that I had to mention it twice.

scottpA_GS

yea, i think they sell high points at the dollar store dont they :P

They are sooo heavy, and very cheaply made. Thats why they have such a "great" warranty. What are they made of?? powder coated lead?   You cant expect much out of a $99.00 9mm
