What is that big blue ring that comes with it? The bolts are too short to go through it and into the muffler... is it just leftover metal that someone decided to paint blue, or am I supposed to do something with it?

And, what's with the header bolts? I think I need an allen wrench to get them out...  They're rusted all to hell. Perhaps worth replacing... but, do I even need to remove the headers? Can I just cut the pipe and slip on the flange while the pipe is still on? I won't get to paint the pipes all nice like roadstergal, but I want my wileyco on there, now!

Yea I use that blue donut to throw at dogs ... Its some sorta adapter plate ... we dont need no steenking adapter plate ... Came with it I believe. Why did Jetswing send you that

I'd be guessing it's the restrictor ring, and that Srinath gave you the bolts to put it on without it.  just get the hacksaw out and go to town, it'll be on there in less than a hour.

Liquid Wrench is your friend.

Allen wrenches of the proper size and the principles of leverage are your friend.

Soak in Liquid Wrench, or Tri-Flow, or your penetrating lubricant of choice.  Let it sit in the stuff for a few minutes.  Put the allen wrench on in such a way that you can get your foot on it.  Apply foot to allen wrench in a controlled but very firm manner.

The blue ring is a spacer or can be put on the flange before installed on bike and then put it on the bike.  Put the tappered allen head screws through the blue collar, then through the flange holes and into the can.  When tightened down it makes the flange totally seal to the pipe.  

I have seen similar collars used on header collecters.

I just put mine on the center stand and pulled out the grinder w/cutoff wheel and went to town. Kind of high for the gs but it does give it some character. I think ill probably have to get mine welded on,though. Seems a tad loose to me unless i didnt install it right? Srinath,tips?

Its Loose ... OK muffler tape ... and paint ... And muffler clamp if you're really loose ...
