Idle adjust screw

from closed position, how many turns out?
i played around with it last time with a set of carbs off ebay and i couldnt get a steady idle so i kept on twisting it and lost track.
it has now been around 3 weeks since i last had a chance to touch my gs so i really have no idea.

also...does anyone know where i can get float bowl gaskets and a float needle/seat? mine is leaking on to the engine and i dont like that one bit

$12 per kit from PartsNMore.  (They will fit '89-'00, not just '89-'93 as listed.)

It's been a while since I've ordered from them.  Let us know if these kits are currently in stock.

$30 minimum order (but free shipping, I think) so toss in a bungee net or something.

You mean the mix screws? 3 turns out.

The idle adjust screw screws in and the tip pushes up on the throttle cable linkage thing. If you take the gas tank off or even just lift it up a bit you can see the other end of that screw, to reset it I would screw it out all the way, then back up until the tip is just lifting the throttle. Make the final adjustments with the engine warmed up (choke off), an idle of between 1200 and 1300 rpms
