Long story short, I took the battery out of bike (was running TIP TOP before) and hooked a new battery up. The bike sat for about a week and a half. I go to ride it, and it starts, but idles like crap. THEN i get it on the road, and it acts very sluggish.  On the highway, won't go over like 80. What's wrong? I hope it something easily fixable, as when I put it up, it was fine. HELP ME!!!!!

check both earth wires still connect to the +ve terminal on the battery.

I believe they are supposed to be wired up to one connector, but on my bike they are on 2 seperate connectors.

If the earth wire to the engine case (the thin black one) is not connected I believe you get cruddy ignition.

I dunno. This sounds fishy to me.

Time to clean the carbs. Hopefully, running carb cleaner that you mix in with the gas will do the trick, after it has sat in the floatbowls overnight.

You don't have to empty the tank, just add the PJ1, run it and let it sit overnight.

When your bike runs like carp, set the hook and reel it in slowly so as not to break the line.

I don't think sitting for a week and a half would give you any problems.
Are you sure you didn't leave the choke on.

I believe  the more demand you put on your bike, it has more to do with electrical. The carb is getting opened up more at that speed, but that carb has already been opened up if you wound it up in 2nd, or 3rd gear.
I would be very suspicious of the coils, or the coil wires.

I agree with looking into " having the choke on" or  the " ground/earth wire"

I have had a simillar problem where it started cutting out on me going down the front straight away wide open at high rpm's.
I turned out to be the coil, and wire. They get old, and the windings start to break down, or the wire starts to loosen where it meets the coil.

Now that I think of it.... the other demand you put on your bike at that speed, is the need for airflow check out the air filter, or maybe something is restricting airflow.

Srinath will do it for you, but you have to send them COD.  Write down instructions instead of talking to him on the phone - he's hard of herring.

He needs to send $$ to the Tuna-e $40 ... and yea a lobster on your piano isn't as bad as crabs on your organ ...
