Hey all,

So I found a local wreckers that has an '84 GS550.  I've got an '89 GS500, that needs a few things (chain guard, passenger toe pegs/brackets, and gauge cluster).

Anyone out there know if I can put those parts off the 84 on my 89?  I'm assuming yes, I hear about how the design of the bike hardly changed since it's conception way back god knows when.

If anyone can let me know, it'd be extremely helpful!

i wouldn't be so sure......the two bikes are NOT that similar
but thats not saying that you wouldn't be able to fit some of the trim/gauge stuff, i wouldn't just hope for eveything to be "plug and play"
JUST IMHO

We're talking the first '89 GS500 to the current GS500s... not the start of the GS line itself. :)

Anyone have any other advice on this?  Anyone had to replace gauge clusters or make different passenger toe pegs???

Just asking cause any info I can get on this subject is greatly appreciated  :)

pass pegs. you can stick 99-02 r6 pegs in there and they look ok.
