Fun with Photoshop

I was looking at at post with the Brazilian Aluzio Motos fairing (basically a copy of the GSXR  fairing) for the GS500 and i thought to myself.....

I wonder if i could use photoshop to "design" (term used loosely) a fairing.

About an hour later, this is what I turned up.



Its a half-copy, half-variation of the GSXR fairing outer egde outline with the stock top profile of the GS500F fairing.  I tossed in the extra gray and black arrow stripe to spruce it up with a sort of 'burst' emanating from the front wheel.  I call it the GS500P (p is for prototype)

What do you think?  Would you ride it?  

I might play with some funky colors next

I like it, but the extra grey/black stripes don't flow with the lines of the bike, so it looks a bit off. Also, the lower fairing right below the back of the gas tank looks a little strange. The "hook" thing in the middle looks a bit off, as well. If that was smoothed out a bit, so that it was one continuous arc, I think  it would match better. Other than those two nitpicks, I like it.

Done, but shoddily.  Its MUCH harder to add color to something that doesn't have any (whites, blacks, grays) than to change the color of something (or remove the color)

A continuous arc would have been pretty much a straight copy of the GSXR fairing outline.  I wanted to play with something a little different.  The rider  seat has a slight scallop to it (as does the leading edge of the fairing), so I made a scallop on the edge of the fairing and repeated it with the oddly shaped 'vent''.  I think it'd look better if someone could mold it for real, but I respect your critique of the design nonetheless.

Another idea, if you're bored and feel like messing around with it some more, would be to move the fairing line down along the upper frame bar then move it down along the frame towards the footpeg, then arcing it towardsd the back again. Either that, or you can just do a square cut along the similar lines you've got already. Just some ideas. I'll probably tinker around with the picture as soon as I find a mouse (laptop nub doesn't work very well for image editing ).
