I celebrate the anniversary of Elvis's death with a minute of mildly embarassed throat-clearing...

It's one thing when someone is tragically cut down in his/her prime by an accident (the crash that killed Buddy Holly, Rickie Valens, and the Big Bopper); it's another when he/she invites it on through drugs and overeating.  Ja, it's sad when someone dies, but there are degrees.

He lives on the Moon with Betty Grable, Howerd Hughes, Walt Disney, OBL and the Lone Ranger and occasionally vists my local fish'n'chip shop. Pandy has seen him in Reno so he's obviously getting about OK.

I've heard that the face on the Statue of Liberty is a ringer for young Elvis.  I have to admit, it looks a lot like him!
