hi everyone i notice my new spark plugs are very white and actually have some sort of white hash on the tip them seem to be running very hot?
Any adjustement i could easily make to overcome this?
it iddle  at 1200 rmp every thing is stock.starts fine with choke on.
Could it be running to lean? if so what should i do?
Thanks
Dan

If it is stock, it is lean. If you look at the FAQ section under rejets you will see a discussion of how folks deal with it.

In the owners manual of my gsf, it says that if you take the spark plugs out, and that they are white, to replace them with a spark plug in which can take the extra heat, and gives u the part number for it. I went and purchased them at the Local canadian tire. It was under 15$ for NGK plugs.  :thumb:

OK it says that in your manual ??? I seriously doubt it ... the hotter plug is if you're fouling plugs by having them go black ... not white ... hotter plugs will run whiter pre say ... than colder plugs ...
Cool.

I would check the plugs first to make sure they're the correct temp range.  If so, and the bike is stock, you need to do some troubleshooting; the bike shouldn't run that lean stock.  Rejetting will only cover up for whatever's off.

If your plugs have hash on them make sure you don't breathe those exhaust gases before going for a ride... it may negatively influence your reaction time :o   Oh, and don't let anyone else know about it, or you may have a bunch of people trying to smoke your exhaust pipe.

I swear to god it does, it listed the part number and everything, i wouldnt just buy any plugs for it, bought the ones it told me to get. manual says "a normal operating spark plug should be very light brown in colour. If the spark plug is very white or glazed appearing, it has been operating much too hot. This spark plug should be replaced with the colder plug."

The it lists the replacement plugs.

DPR8EA-9 = Standard plug

DPR9EA-9 = If the standard plug is apt to overheat, replace with this plug.

DPR7EA-9 = If the standard plug is apt to get wet, replace with this plug.

THose part numbers are for the NGK plugs. It also list part numbers for DENSO plugs. But my canadian tire had NGK, and i like them better so i bought the DPR9EA-9 ones. There u go.

It was ambiguously enough worded that you could probably claim that, but Srinath and I both gleaned from it that you meant the opposite, so the OP might, as well.

lol, admit it. Were both right.

My manual say's the same as stefman's, I'm guessing this is because we both have new F's and both canadian model's? correct me if I'm wrong.

Probably. I replaced mine with the colder plugs cauz when i checked they were extremely white, and i had 10,000 km on them. My bike now has 11,500 km and they seem to be running perfect. Like i said they were under 15$ so well worth it i guess.
