Hey all,

Recall before how I didn't have any of the stuff to fit a passenger.  Well, my buddy works for a machining company, so I bought the parts, and there we fabricated new brackets for the pegs, and welded them on with a 250 amp MIG welder, here's the result:

It was a wet day today so there's some dirt and I haven't found time to wash the bike yet, excuse that.

The parts:

The brackets were made out of square pipe steel, and coated with Tremclad gloss black brushed on.

Since the install, I've gone for some two-ups with my girlfriend.  It's awesome.  Big grin on my face rolling around town  :)  I am noticing some bottoming out on the bumps though.  If using the long screwdriver trick on the collar for setting the rear suspension for 7 doesn't fix it, they may have to be bowed out some more because on big bumps the brackets that were fabricated hit the swingarm.

Anyway there you go.  :)

Those don't look too bad at all. I likey. Am I alone in saying I think the stock foot pegs on the GS look like complete crap? :dunno:

No, you are right, they look like the cheapest pawn-shop special Suzuki could have come up with.

I really should go buy some LP alum. passenger pegs to match my CBR front pegs...

They look awful; but those all-metal pegs buzz like crazy.  Something nice and vibration free, but not looking like schlock, would be good.

The stock pegs won't win any beauty contests, but they are really made for function and a wider market than the billet aluminum most would demand. Recall that it took Suzuki 15 years to do full body plastics.  With a little retooling, they could come up with some snazzy bolt on options.

Of course that might bite into the GS XR market share   .

Good job of making do on the home brew pegs.  :thumb:
