Just about six hours left.... I only work Wed and Thurs this coming week.  I actually only end up working like 15 days a month.  I might have to take a break and go for a ride.  I ride to work almost everyday!!!

pandy

You're a better woman than I...I'm too lazy to gear up for a lunch time ride.  :thumb:

Yeah but I love riding at night.  Hey I just checked out Curve Unit.  I just have one word. GHETTO!!!!!

pandy

 I think you just described it very well...I couldn't quite put my finger on what didn't appeal to me, but I think you hit the nail on the head.

I haven't ridden at night yet.   I don't really have much need to... On weekends, we usually take an early-morning ride so as to miss the heat of the day. We've ridden to dinner in the summertime, but it stays light so late that we've just never been out in the dark. I have, however, ridden in the rain....will teach me not to have my rain gear with me in the winter.

Due to gas prices and my psychotic car insurance, I plan on ridding until the temps get to the 45ish degree mark or until it snows!!!! Rain sucks but ya get used to it.  It is dark here when I leave so I ain't got no choice.

Last year, I was riding well into the 20's on my way to work in the mornings. It is only a 10 mile commute, but its a chilly one. I can't say enough good things about warm gear  :thumb:
Richard died in a motorcycle accident that was at no fault of his own.  We lost a good friend and good member of this board.  Though Rich may be gone, his legacy will live on here.

Warm gear is something I'm going to have to start investing in. My hands already get a bit chilled in the morning, so glove liners are first on the list...

I already have a heavy jacket and gloves.  I just order boots and some warm overpants will be next.

pandy

I have the big overpants...the boots...the winter jacket....I need glove liners, and definitely the ski mask type covering for face and neck....bRRRr! I've even looked into setting my bike up for heated handgrips...and scratch had some interesting looking hand protectors of some sort in a picture of his winterized bike...

How cold does it get in San Jose????

pandy

It can get down into the 40's or even 30's in the wintertime...and I'm a weenie? :P:P:P

I usually leave for work at about 6AM and have about a 40-minute commute, so it gets...chilly.

It's usually in the late 50's to mid 60's when I ride to work in the AM...and HOT in the afternoon when I ride home.

We get a little bit colder.  I am a weenie too but I blame that on lack of body fat ;) .  And my commute takes 25 mins tops.  On a side note this Hurricane is getting really really serious!!!

pandy

Well, I have enough body fat to keep me warm, but I'm still a weenie.

I haven't heard much about the hurricane lately...is there an online site that's updating frequently, or are you watching the weather on your big tv at work? ;)

Watching on the huge tv but I am sure there is stuff on CNN and websites like that.

pandy

I think that yesterday they were estimating that it was gonna hit 4.... is it getting that bad?

It is a cat 5 right now and they don't expect it to get smaller.  It is also heading right for New Orleans.

pandy

Oh geez... I hope everyone that needed to be evacuated has been...and that everything that can be nailed down is...  :(

About 100,000 people were still there at last count with a lot of them being moved into the Superdome.  I don't think they make nails that can with stand 160+ mph winds.
