Idle issue?

I seem to be having an issue with my bike when it idles.  I have my bike adjusted to idle at approx 1200 rpm.  It is steady for a few seconds (after I warm it up) and then it dips a little to about 900 - 1000rpm and then it goes back to 1200 rpm

I just checked my carbs and they are fine.  

Will my bike always stall if it goes below or at 1000 rpm?  Because it stalled (yesterday at an intersection)
What might be the cause for that dip??

Could have been any number of things that may make it dip in rpm's: Temporary lodging of dirt somewhere, something loose allowed more gas to flow, temporary loss of vacuum to the fuel selector, a 4 inch Captain Kirk was temporarily transported into your airbox and beamed back up.

I thought it did.  Set the idle with the bike fully warm.

If this is still in the morning, I would say that the bike still isn't fully warmed up, yet. Set your idle when the bike is hot, after a good long ride.

No. Properly tuned, you could get these motors to idle at 800rpm's all day long, but that wouldn't be healthy for the cams because there wouldn't be enough oil pressure.
It may have stalled at that time due to the fuel sloshing around in the float bowl (maybe due to inadequate fuel level, due to floats set too low).
