Check tire pressures.  And keep your hands on the bars.

The uneven wear may be from crowned roads. I'll echo what Roadstergal has stated in checking your tire pressures, and definitely keep your hands on the bars!
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Check the steering bearings. You put the bike on the centre stand and push down on the seet to raise the front up. Now turn the handle bar left and right checking for any stiffness. Also check all the bolts on the front forks are tight.

I second that. I had a persistent problem on mine, shaking when took my hands off the bar, and when I tightened the steering nut it all dissapeared.
