Rear brake seized up

After a 15 mile ride, and 0.5 miles away from work, I noticed a slow down
on the bike, as if it was losing power, kicked it down a few gears and realized
I could keep going at high revs but low speed... then I figured one of the
brakes must have seized up....

when it was safe to stop, sure enough, I saw that the rear brake assembly
was smoking... and it was impossible to roll the rear wheel.

Is there a way to free up the rear brake?  I need to move it around
a bit before hauling it to a shop.  Don't have any tools handy... but I can get
a screwdriver if draining the brake liquid would help...

Thanks in advance

draining the break fluid should help you move it for now, but how did it seize up in the first place?

Loosening the bleeder bolt on the brake should do the trick.
