Well quick question. We just got done with a pretty intense lifting session. Just over an hour, and a full body workout. We do it one day a week, and cardio/light weights every other day. Well both times now, my workout buddy has gotten sick. I mean literally....this time it was out in the parking lot. Im worried that hes going to hard, or not getting the nutrition he needs or something. Any docs here or experienced lifters that can give me some advice??

Vomiting is not a regular feature of a healthy diet and workout plan.  There's something he's not doing right, and yes, he needs to talk to a doctor or a personal trainer.  Not someone who plays one on the internet. :)

He's going too hard.  You should be tired after a workout, not sick.

If you want to get the most out of a work out, do it often...  And be healthy.  If you pull a muscle or hurt yourself, you're doing too much or doing it wrong.

Do three days for weights, but don't go ALL OUT.  Find a place that makes you sore and increase as needed...  And I'm not talking "holy shaZam! I'm gonna die" sore.

Then three days for cardio...  Then take one day off to do nothing.

You have to pay attention to what you eat too.  On lifting days eat more protein.  On cardio days eat more carbs.  And on ALL days, drink lots of water.

In the beginning, you may be sore for a few days after working out.  After a while you will only be sore the next day... Then you'll find that it's hard to get sore at all and that'll you'll run out of steam before you can work out enough to get sore.  If you're trying to build BULK, you'll have to modify your diet and/or your work out.  If you trying to be healthy and in good shape, then you're fine staying where you are and not being sore.

Changing your work-out from time to time is a good idea either way...  You can also make up different routines for different days.

A guy a played ball with in college used to puke all the time.  I mean like 2 or 3 times every practice.  He had something wrong with his stomach.  Some sort of failure there that made his food and water come up (I recall thinking that he ate a lot of oranges).  It didn't really effect him and he is fine even today.  He just had to drink a ton of water because it was always coming up.  The really bad part was that this guy played Center and sometimes he'd puke on the ball.

Maybe your friend has the same thing?
