Question to those with Srinath bars

when i put on srinath's bars i had to trim some things to get them over the powder coating and ever since i have noticed that my throttle wants to drag a little and doesnt snap back like it should. i sanded down the powder coating a little and it got a little better but i was wondering if anyone else was having similar problems. i'm not sure if i could replace something or if i should just sand down the paint a little more. any ideas

Yea sand it till the throttle spins free ... I usually sand it till the thing fits ... on both sides, usually that's perfect to let it all fit up ... yea sorry about that ... no real solution to that problem ... OK I can not coat it, but the thin coating you'd leave behind after sanding is better than none ...

I just sanded down the ends until I could get choke and electric start button assemblys on the bars.  Should only take 10-15 minutes sanding by hand.  Great bars, you'll like 'em.

That's the other thing its weirdly thick ... some bars have thicker than others, still other bars have thick on one side and thin on other ... remember we're still talking fractions of an mm in any case ... So YMMV as well ...

i love the bars there is no question about it. i'm gonna go sand down the bars a little bit and that should do the trick. the powder coating looks awesome so i wouldn't change that just a little obsticle for perfection, hehe. thanks for the input guys and the bars srinath

Yea ... Thanks, but other people have said it was thick and they had trouble and what not ... Just from an engineering point of view there was no easy way out. Chrome may be an option, but I'd need lots of 25+, else the chrome guys dont even wanna talk to me, and they need a hole in it, cos their stuff is too precise and needs to get into that immersion tank in and out in the split second things they drop them in for ... and the final situation is ... if it was chrome and it was too thick, you're screwed ... OK chrome guys put it on thin, but even so, you have it a few 100's over ... done ... The basic problem is ... our bars are .875, I can get .88 tubing whihc is too thick to start with, and I can get .85 tubing which after coating is still too small ... just a hair ... I want to find some .86 or .87 in 120 wall ... easier said than done ... so yea we're the bottom of the food pile ...

used a power sander and sanded the throttle side as smooth as I could...smooth throttle is where it's at....

as for the inside of the bars...I used a dremmel to sand the inside to fit my lp barends.

I didn't feel like drilling so I just cut the nubs off for the controls.

i like the powder coated black much better than chrome it matches my bike much better and looks factory. i actually used my dremel to sand down a little then figured i didn't have as much control over it as i would if i used sand paper by hand, anyway sanding is a small price to pay
