what tires are on your bike?
probably need stickier tires
leaning off...no big deal
you probably levered the rear wheel off the ground when the centerstand hit

I grabbed the photo, cropped it and then cranked the gamma, contrast and brightness around....it looks like just the centerstand lever and front wheel are on the ground.

Tab, Maybe you want to remove that also for the next session? The springs are a bugger to get off, but the stand only has two bolts and some pins holding it on.

That's a fine looking '89 you have there.  :thumb:

I'm jealous.

That's normal TB. It is just your hormones.

On the other hand, where were all the girls with motorcycles when I was young and single?  :(

Boundary Bay is ghetto, I stopped going there a while ago, now I only show up for the stunt nights. Mission is closer for me and they have a beautiful track definately worth checking out if you live in van.

I unfortunately must side with my fellow Georgian, Tab looks mighty nice.

Tab please don't let our (mine and TB's) pathetic advances scare you away from this forum, but please don't become a cynical tease like pandy, either.   Glad your not hurt keep practicing and having fun, and if you are ever in GA give me a hollar as well.  TB can show you the metropolis of Atlanta, and I'll show you the coast as well as some good 'ol fashion down home southern hospitality.

TB and other GA GSers, we should try to meet in the middle somewhere for a ride sometime.  Let all these yankees have there fun, but after our ride we can eat collard greens and sip sweet tea.

You're laying yourself wide open for a bunch of "not born yet" smartass replies.

Oppy, where in GA are you?  I'm putting the band back together!  j/k

I'm actually going to try to catalog all the Georgia GS500 owners I can.

So far there's me, you, danno, and chiquita.

Know of anyone else?

tab

thanks for all the replies, pointers, etc.

this wasn't a course but a very casual environment to practice safely

tarzanboy-didn't know i was gonna get any fans from the lowside pic

scratch-yea,i gotta get my body closer to the bike. tried it on a couple of laps near the end, just not used to it yet...practice, practice.

werase643-love your avatar! i purchased new tires months ago for everyday riding with no intention of going to the track.
if i get serious i will have to make modifications.

rclz-boundary bay is a great place for people like me to practice in a safe environment-yes, it isn't a 'real' track but i'm not ready for that yet - i've got lots to learn. i take it that you race regularly at mission - will you be there this fri for the track daze or the races on the weekend?

cheers everyone  :thumb:

Lol, yeah... well whats not to like about a pretty girl on an '89 ?(Mine's an 89 as well).

Though a few other posters have accused me of being dorky and silly   , its in all earnestness  :) .

So, about your older 250cc bike... did you not ever ride it hard?  I'd think that you would have hit some good leans over a 12 mo. span of riding

Tarzanboy:

I saw your '89; obviously, you put a lot of work into it. Now I'd like to know more about that '94 - '97 VFR750 in the background; is it yours? If not, do you ever get to ride it? Don't want to hijack the thread, so be sure to ask tab another question in your reply to me. You MIGHT want to ask her if she's married or has a Significant Other... just a suggestion.

I'd like to take credit for the mods to my '89, but in reality I purchased her in that exact, pristine condition.  seshadri_srinath and cheesy are the ones that put the time, energy and $$ in to make it look pretty (i'd like to aqcuire a ratty gs and attempt a similar project... only prob is that i dont' know how to weld yet and i dont' have a garage).

The VFR in the background belongs to my roommate.  (Wow, you could tel what it wasl from that little bit in my photos?)  Its a '94 or '95 (i forget which).  I haven't ridden it yet because i've been trying to perfect my riding habits on my bike... but i'll most likely take it out for a spin  this coming month.  When I get home, I'll post a more full photo of it for you.

..and to fulfill your last request (though it doesn't make much of a difference either way since Vancouver is a loooong way from here)...  Tab, are you attached or otherwise involved?  Enquiring minds want to know, lol.

wow tarzanboy, you have a SWEET bike!  never would have guessed it to be an '89 until you see the clip on handlebars.

leaning my little cruiser, hmm, not too sure about that - dif seatin position, dif riding style.  i did ride it at top speed of 130km, lol.

for inquiring minds, i do have a boyfriend that doesn't ride  :dunno:

i think i'm gonna stick him in a riding course soon - going to the track really intriqued him.

here's his ride:

shoulda asked the photog what happened if the instructors don't know.

dunno the place but looks like a glorified parking lot to me.  if so, they really should have been able to tell you what happened (otherwise they're not real instructors if they're not observing their students)...if not, may want to invest in a real "school"... :dunno:
