Keep a good thick coat of hi temp paint on the exhaust every year and you shouldnt have any problems.

Yea, probably ... but who does it every year, worse, its going to rust faster if you skip it, and its thinner wall to boot. Stock pipes will stand over 2 years wihtout rusting, and will be able to rust a lot more wihtout blowing a hole.
Cool.

I did mine every year, besides it isnt that hard, you have the dumb thing off every 2000 miles to change the oil filter.

Yup you do ...    ... its super light ... which is the big attraction for it really, for a often used street bike its just impractical. 2K miles was 20 days for me at one time ... 3K was a month ... had to have 4-5 bikes just so I dont have to oil change them every 3-4 weeks.
