yeah so i went out to the bars tonight, before hand i drove to my friend kristin and brenda's house on my bike.  When i get back to there place at about 12:30 AM i tell them im leaving.  They said i couldnt drive cuz i had been drinking.  Tried to explain to them that it was just one block, they werent buying it.  So in order to keep them from being pissed at me, i walked my bike home.  Hehe drunkards on the sidewalk were laughing at me.  I'm actually glad i walked my bike home cuz as soon as i got to the intersection between my apartment and there apartment i saw the cop parked there (he laughed at me   ).  He knew what was up.  Moral of the story, dont drink and drive, its not worth the $3000+ dollars in fines, cuz i know i would have been pulled over cuz this is my favorite place to wheelie (come to a slow rolling stop and the sign then wheelie the 100ft to my driveway).

PS sorry if this post seems a little distorted, im still a little drunk, its 1:13 AM.

Well...  Tell your friends good job.

DUI is bad news!

Killing yourself is worse news!

Killing someone else is the worst news of all!!!

Now have one for me!

rritterson

and thank your friends for being great friends.

You have good friends.  Fergit about the ticket - think about an accident.  One block is plenty of time for one.

Well said. Trust me a DWI is the last thing you need on your record. However, you still could have been cited for PI.

Hey I know some don't like me cuz I'm a LEO, But I like to have fun with my friends also. Just make arangements to arrive home safely, or stay the night. I dont know you personally, but loosing a member or anyone for that matter would be a bad thing.

Be safe,

I do wonder quite why you rode there in the first place but thereafter you did it right! A lot of people worry about the money, loosing the license but seem to overlook the possibility of loosing or taking a life or lifelong disability. Well done to you and your friends.

i find if i am even sick a bit, i cant ride, my balence gets thrown off. I prefer riding only when i am in peak health.

I don't understand why you drove to your friends house in the first place.  If it was only a block, why not just walk over there in the first place.  I'm glad you didn't ride drunk, though.  Thank your friends, I'd say you owe them a beer for saving you a ticket.

Hey, some of us like you because you're a LEO.  I hate to argue safety without some backup.  :)

I'm not going to nit pick about the why, but good job.   All that matters is that you did the right thing, not why you were at the bar with your bike.

Most of the time we will try to reason (can be hard when they are drunk) with the intoxicated person and try to get them to call some one to pick them up. Saves me a ton of paperwork and time at the jail.

If they can get someone to pick them up, I will let them go.

reminds me of a funny story.... Had a guy the other night decide he was too drunk to drive, so he decided to park the car and sleep it off... too bad the parking lot he picked was the parking lot of the police station!
Now that is IRONY!
