k & n pod filters (i did a search)

just curious if anyone has tried these pod filters for the GS.  they come in a 2-1/4" bore and 2-1/2" bore.  they are the same dimensions as my uni except the bore diameter for the ru-2790 is 2.375 which is right in the middle so i think i will have to go with the rd-0720.  has a small velocity stack and everything.

if anyone has tried them let me know.  also they sell a ru-0820 without the velocity stack at 2.438 flange.  if nayone has triend either let me know i am curious as to your thoughts.

kinda cool i might have to try a set of these out to see what they can do.  much better surface area than the lunch box.

Yea done in ... Tapered pods, regular straight pod, done it all ... Its all not as good as the RU 2970, but it works just fine. RU 2970 is a large sucker that when it somes off doen't have anywhere to go ... I lost pods off my eliminator ... but on a GS I have not ... but big deal, knock yourself out ... nothing much to gain/lose ... BTW how is the bike running ... get the jetting done yet ..

Technically speaking, the lunchbox RU-2970 has more surface area than individual pods. Since each cylinder pulls air independently, the whole filter is available for each carb during its intake stroke.

i put the stage 3 dyno jet kit on that was given to me with the bike and it runs great according to the dynojet set up.  pulls hard unto about 9k on 5th then starts to hit too much of a head wind to over come it.  that si about 90-95 MPH do not have much reason to go over that speed so I am OK.  still need to check for running lean, have not had the chance.  BTW i am getting 46 MPG with dyno jet stage 3 so i am pretty happy as that was a full throttle day of riding.  about 160Mile per tank.

OK stage 3 will be 134 mains and needles on 3 and 3 on mix screw, and what pilots - stock ??
That is almost like 147.5 mains with stock needles ...

stage 3 is 134 mains stock pilots needle on 2 and 2 turns out at for air screw.  works great n stumbling i just need to see how it works with the k&n i was running inu pds.  need to do a top speed run to see how it pulls.  will keep you up on this.

OK you have stage 3 in it for stock air box and filter and it runs fine ... yikes ... that means you're looking at 145 or so mains with the DJ needles in it. That super thin DJ kit needles are atleast +15 on the mains compared to stock needles ...

i can try your set-up and see what happens.  also my interest in the pods is not so much for max air flow but rather for the velocity stack molded inside of the filter.  want to see if the more laminar flow made the bike run better than the more turbulent flow it currently has.  the velocity stack will help to pull more fuel out of the main ( i hope).  it is worth a try either way.  i'll let you guys know about both (srinath's settings and the pod filters)  thanks again for all your help.
