One freebie, and then I give you shaZam!.

I was telling my boy how bikes work.  When I mentioned the petcock, he said "I don't like being called that!"

pandy

Perhaps he'd prefer boytoy? ;)

I get blamed for EVERYTHING around here!
:woohoo:

The main argument against doing that is that if you have a sticky carb float you could come out to find all of your gas drained. I think some have replaced the vacuum actuated petcock with a simple on/off valve.

Would you just clamp the hose from the Vacum off the old petcock too?

Oh!  No, I don't know her.  But I'm an immunologist by training and still, for all practical purposes; I work on microglia, which are immune cells that just happen to be in the brain.  I'm not in mainstream neuro.

Be the first (or is it the second?) to try THIS.

Vacuum line to the carb should be capped off.
I'd do it with some plugged pipe so the carb is left untouched.

the vacuum line from the tank?

There are 3 pipes out of the tank.
1) Main fuel line. This should go to one bit of the T junction.
2) Reserve fuel line. This should go to the 2nd bit of the T junction.
3) Tank drain hose. This should be left as is and routed down to beside the right footpeg with the other drain hoses.
