I just saw this thread.  I know it is old but here is some input.  The bmgracing adapter is for the stock gs throttle tube.  I installed the SV650 throttle tube and the diameter is the same as a stock GS with the bmgracing piece on it (I only know because I bought the adapter piece and the SV tube).    By the way my bike is a 2007 GS500F.

I got a SV 1/5 turn+grip  for $30 off ebay.It only turns about 35* to  45*.It turns so little to reach full throttle it's hard to ride.

REVISE Did the math and I have roughly a 1/6th turn,as dgyver stated earlier, without the adapter. It is because of the smaller diameter cam on the carbs compared to the SV's.
PICS are GONE never TO return.

ohgood

Suppose you could fine tune the amount of pull required for WOT at the carbs.

All it would take would be different size cams. Big cam = longer pull required. Small cam = shorter pull required.

The stock twist is pretty good imho.
