My bike has a problem with the main carb needle and so I'm looking to do a carb overhaul this weekend.  Does anyone know who makes the carb on a 2000 GS500, or where I can get replacement parts etc?

Thanks.

Mikuni, but you may be able to order aftermarket parts from Sudco through Cycle Gear. Or, let's see...who's near you...Santa Clara Cycle Accessories (730-0600), Bike World in Sunnyvale (245-4888)...maybe check the phone book to see who closer to you...I was going to suggest Redwood City Honda, but I don't know if they're closer...

Thanks scratch,

I've heard that there are really cheap rebuild kits on ebay.  But I can't seem to find any.  How much does a carb rebuild usually cost from a dealer or mechanic and how much do the parts cost if I choose to do it myself.

I just got the Clymer manual and will probably tackle the job soon.

Parts are like $2.50 each for the jets, but I've never priced a jet needle. I haven't worked in a shop for over a decade so I really don't know what they're charging these days. I would call Doug or Greg at Santa Clara Cycle Accessories and ask what they're charging. It's gotta be better than the dealer shops.
