hey guys..just wanted to say hi to everyone here and say why you should keed the gs500..

one...there are so many different zx6r's that i can't even find the parts for my bike...i go on ebay and type zx6r and it gives me about 10 different parts that do the same thing...when i had the gs it was so easy because basically all the gs parts are the same

two...people on kawiforums.com are mostly newbies that just wanna post pics of their mint new 2005 bikes...no info on the forum at all...nobody there knows anything about a zx6r except that it should be green   ...i try to search about carb parts and there is no info because noone there knows what kind of carbs a 98 zx6r has...here on gs twin there is so many people that know everything....everything about a gs500

three...keep the gs500 you have because you'll be sorry you sold it like me

Umm GRU's no noob, i think he knows what his bike has.

Thats a good reminder GRU, I think sometimes GS'ers take for granted how easy it is to get parts vs. a bike with a short life span.  But yet, we sometimes complain how its outdated.

Ha ha ... one more ZX6R-GS500 reversifier ... why do you thik I post Q's about my virago's starter problem or my KZ's carburetion here ... Yea cos we somehow assembled a large group of knowledgeable people who aren't full of themselves ... Virago sheite is great for asling what saddle bags are best for your bike, KZ guys are OK but somehow they are not online very often ... living out in the boonies maybe ... The old eli forum was OK, but they changed it and went to sign in only and then the forum was never the same ... then they went back to the old format and in the end it was a disaster ... Then the US eli's split and OK its begining to sound like a rock band.

The GS500 is unique. Antiquated? That is GREAT. An old upright parallel twin. Wholly reliable and trustworthy. You racing for money? Exellent!..........Then find some racetrack forum and keep your ass over there.................If you think about it......most of "our" roads aren't Hayabusa material..............death lies much nearer to your types than a GS500 rider although I'm sure most would agree that we all have a lot in common when we pull out from our driveways. Faith in our skills and faith that the sorry bastards that "don't see us". ...........truly........"trackday" with some of you people is from stop light to stop light and down the freeway at 170+......I actually work with some of you people.....just in different bodies.........hundreds/thousands of miles away..........

I know I'm just feeding the trolls, but I can't for the life of me figure out why, if I wanted a Harley-style bike, I should pay well into the 5 figures for one and then spend another 4 figures on chrome and screaming chicken parts to "customize" it.  INew Harleys aren't the bowling-ball nightmares of yesteryear anymore either, but I'd still be worried about anything that wasn't a V-rod or derivative.

How does having a Nina (like this thread is about) or even a GS or a plastic crotch rocket like a Heyabusa have anything to do with being a Harley Wannabe? Did I miss something? I've always thought that crotch rockets and Harleys come from two different schools of thought....

Anyway, GSTWINS.COM IS AWESOME. I've learned so much here, and met so many great people. I've learned a lot about my bike and motorcycling in general, but also a lot about people. I even like the Tard Farm debates because they let us glimpse into our fellow rider's minds. And there is so much help and information on this site for the GS500, it is crazy. And this site is definitely appreciated, thats for sure.

Yea the only problem is ... in the last 10 years Jap co's have copied and dumbed the cruiser line much more so its worse than the HD's these days. They also make the other extreme Crotch RRRRockets ... WTF ... Anyway good thing for me there is no shortage of KZ's, GS'es, Virago's, Maxims, radians, eli's, vulcans, Intruders etc ... maybe in a few years Jap bikes will become more ... Jap ... or maybe Korean bikes will be the new Jap ... UJM - UKM.
