i bought a pair of those JR shoes with the ankle thingy at first because I was not crazy about boots.  Never worn them...WAY too scared to F up my ankle/foot/etc.   I got a pair of Sidi rose boots right away and they are great.  I'm lookin at the vertigos for more intense days, but I can wear my current ones all day w/o a problem.  Otherwise I bring my shoes in my backpack or tank bag...

I wore hiking boots for about a week before i picked up the sidis.  They were ok, but I am just so paranoid after seeing some of the ankle/foot things...ewwwwwwwww.. and OWWWWWWWWWW...and yikes.

That's about it for my intelligence, gotta go to class and get a refill.

AAHHH! Too many choices on boots! Any recommendations? I mostly ride to work when it's nice then on the weekends a little. I never plan to ride in the rain.

Edit: I'd like to keep it under $200 or less.

Find some local sidi and alpinestar dealers in your area.  Head over there and try some on to see what you like.  Then if you wan't to save some money you can write down the style and size you need then order them on line.  I wanted to really get the sidi vert 2's went to a stocking dealer found that the Sidi's don't like my feet to much so ended up with some alpinestarts very comfortable.
Pilot 22.5, Mid 65 , Mains 147.5, Mixture screw 3.5 turns out

Even if the voices aren't real they have some good ideas.

You can't always get a better price online, I bought some pants and a jacket at a bike store (and this one is usually a lot more expensive than other places) for $277. They gave me 20% off the jacket and pants. And they aren't crappy.
