Looks like an SV650S gone wrong.

It does.  It also appears to parallel twin???  Why not a v-twin.  Correct me if I am wrong 'cause I can't find any official specs on it.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's their new K1200 engine lopped in half (sorta).  BMW's never done a V-twin.

Looks like 2->1 to me.

natedawg120

yeah i know they havn't done one before.  They use a horizontal twin.  But if they are going to compete why not go for the, what i consider, better engine design of a v-twin.  Just my .02

I like it :) .  Unfortunately it probably costs 10k+ cause its brevarian.   I am really glad to see that the midweight fun machine is taking off.  Here's a list of the top of my head.

That's off the top of my head, and staying under 1000cc, really under 900cc except the buell.

Finally got a good job.  Hooray me!!!

meh... looks goofy to me, that motor is not sexy in the slightest.  what final drive are they using, chain or their telelever stuff?  Unless it has a bunch of power outlets, an adjustable windshield, and other typical BMW creature comforts, or it is absolutely sublime to ride, it's just going to wind up as an overpriced sport-commuter.  Of course, that's just me speculating based on prices for the rest of BMW's line-up.

This is replacing the F650CS in their lineup, so I imagine belt.  If the gas tank is under the seat, you get low COG and a stuff bay, both of which I liked.

I really, really liked the F650CS.  And it was pricing that kept me away.  Although - the older ones are now in the range of reasonability.  I bet I just need to be patient.

I bet you'll have and one of these by March.

Hey, it's a TDM

I've been looking for a TDM800 or 850 for a while... looks about like that, but more dated.  I've only seen one in person; they're hard to find.

if the thing was a naked bike or just didnt have the ninja 250 sorta styling I would take it, but the way it is i would have to think real hard before I bought it.

I'm sorry, but that TDM is hideous. What's with that humongously swoopy bulbous styling from the tank to the front fairing? That's just downright ugly. Couple that with the super low arced seat followed by the flatt passenger seat, it's a bad combination of lines. And the spot on the tank where the Yamaha Logo is looks like it's a taped on box. It just sticks out there.

I still can't get over how ugly that front fairing is, either. And then that shorty exhaust... looks like someone took the normal can and chopped it in half. The rear turn signals are in a terrible spot as well, too.

It was only imported in the early '90s, so it looked like this:

That's still ugly. Not AS ugly, but still ugly. The first one you showed... god damn. I'd rather own a KATANA than one of those things.

That BMW looks horrible! The head light is massive and there's too many hard lines on the fairings.
