so im celaning my GS and this girl that i barely know asks if she can sit on it so im thinkin ok she looks like she can take it. she grabs the handlebars and lets it roll back (it was on the stand) the bike starts leaning to the right and picks her up and she lets go!!! :guns:  so the bike falls to the right right on the edge of the curb. I felt like beating the shiat outta her but shes a gurl. front windshield loose and cracked, paint scratched new exhaust scratched. :guns:  that Buddha Loves You

well i know how you feel.  Anytime friend of mine want to sit on my baby i hold the handlebars.  You have to think that the only thing with handlebars that they have picked up is probably a bicycle.  The GS isn't big but it is way more than a bicycle.  Just look at it this way, you could have had an F.

I am sorry your bike is messed up but here are a few things to consider.

1).  Did you show her the proper mounting technique?

2.)  Does she know to grab the clutch and front brake so that the bike doesn't roll?

3.)  Did you centerstand it if you can?  The sidestand on these puppies is not very reliable.

It is your bike and ultimately your responsibility for who gets on it and what they know.  A few seconds of instruction before letting anyone who you suspect may not have very much MC experience is always very benefical.  If they dont want the instruction or give you lip their ass shouldn't be on your bike anyway.

it is an F ,05 cracked fairing btw, shaZam!

I had a similar exp...the day after I got mine I was teaching my brother the friction zone doing some ducky walking.  He decided to dump the clutch, the bike lurched, then in a panic he grabbed every lever he could (clutch and brake)...obviously the bike went down.  I just stood there and told him, "You're lucky the bike landed on you rather than hit the ground and get scratched up."  He said, "Please lift it off me..."  When I stopped being mad we had a good laugh.

this reminds me...

the other day I was coming out of some stupid class (dont even know which one) and then I got into my gs promptly.
As I was sitting there putting my gloves and stuff, this girl started walking close by me until finally she gather enough courage and said: "What if I want to ride with you... where is the spare helmet!?!..."

Of course I said nothing, smiled, gave her the finger and took off.  :nono:

ya right. helmets are so sheep that anyone can buy spares for any foo that wants to ride with you for free.
Caturday yet?

Ig-zactly.

if someone who doesn't ride sits on my bike, i usually stand in front of the front wheel and use my hands to balance the bars in case they lose it.

Dude.... what are you talking about?  The side stand is WAY more stable than the centerstand.

I would have complimented him on his extreme drag-your-body-instead-of-just-your-knee leaning technique, then flicked boogers at him while he was under the bike and had him recite the bike safety code! :-)  Too mean?   Nah!

Dude.... that girl was totally trying start a conversation with you and you came off to her as the hugest jerk in history.  If you didn't want to talk to her, then maybe a fake smile, or shrug of the shoulders would have done less to RUIN HER DAY and make her feel bad about trying to chat someone up.   Not cool!  Mean people suck.
