Performance difference

hey guys, yes i searched but cant find, My question is, is there any power performance different between the naked gs500 and the gs500f the fairing bike?? Im might be getting a new 05 gs500 naked style and was just curious. Please reply

Nope. The F model weighs about 20lbs more though, and it might have a slightly upgraded brake system, but I forget. Aside from that, they are pretty much the same.

ahhh sweet thanks a bunch. Just a quick question... me getting a 05 brand new gs500 it wouldnt be appropriate to think of exhaust system ect. I dont want to effect the warranty just wondering is it worth the hassle and does the gs sound ok stock, in other words does it sound better then a postie bike, i think they are ct 90's bcuz i dont want a bike that sounds like a piece of piss.

It doesn't necessarily sound bad stock, but it doesn't necessarily sound good. It's all a matter of opinion really. A lot of people leave the stock exhaust on, while many others change it. I don't know if changing it would affect your waranty on it, as I have never bought a brand new bike or car before. Others here might have better information about that.

Personally, I'm changing the exhaust for a better power delivery and a better sound. Stock is fairly quiet.

ahh kz well, i consider my self very lucky to be getting such a nice new bike and i think ill leave it stock for a good year. I need to run it first LOL. WAIT i need to get it first...will know in a 2 weeks if im getting it for sure

I want to get a new pipe too. Every time I hear my Dad's CBR with his SuperTraps on it I just want to unbolt them from his and put them on my GS500e. Probably wouldn't sound the same. Some people have drilled holes in their exaust, but I heard some sound clips of some and they sounded like crap.

Hope you get your bike soon so that you may start enjoying it.

I'd imagine a piece of piss sounds like a piece of urine (we'll call it dx of the whole function y) integrated over the length of the stream. Since it's an arc, it would most likely be parabolic, and therefore would be such:

y = (integral sign) 2x dx

Yeah yeah. It's an easy integral. But it's pee. Who cares?
