Anyone uses RSS?

I just found a thread below at phpBB site and my understanding is that this mod aggregates posts to an RSS feed. I find RSS extremely convenient and I am curious if I am the only one? If there are other people interested admins could use this mod to make this forum readable in a more real time mode (which for me was crucial at times when I was wrenching) and more easily accessible (I use thunderbird for my email and it also supports RSS so it eliminates the need to actually navigating to the site and makes things simpler).

Anyways, I think RSS is a nice option but I am not sure if anyone else here uses it  :dunno: below is the link to the phpBB forum thread.

Then again I've spent 3 hours riding Angeles Crest Highway (which is my first actual trip to the mountains with my gs) and ,RSS or not, I feel great  :thumb:

You the guy riding around in his dress pants, following pantablo? Nice choice in helmet btw. If you are ever down for an LA ride.. let me know. Oh, the rss thing...

I don't use it myself, but you should be able to get a feed from the phpbb if it is turned on.

I had no idea there was an add-on for phpBB to give it an RSS feed. I generate several types of feed formats (RSS 0.91/1.0/2.0, ATOM, OPML, etc...) for the different blogs, galleries, podcasts, etc... that I administer. It's a great and simple way to broadcast your crap. Whoever is the main admin here (think it's John) should definitely look into this, but I don't think it's completely needed for a forum format site considering forums are more about interactivity than just browsing and viewing. :thumb:

I'm up in ACH almost every Saturday and Sunday morning now. Jebus, I love that place (even if it did kill my wheel). Let me know if you ever feel like riding up there.

thanks for the invitation guys! my riding experience is just a few weeks with maybe one day a week over 5-10 miles total.. so I am not sure if I am there yet, I am not going over 50mph (was 40mph till yesterday's ride  :) ) and I am not doing the highways for this reason(which sucks as it took me a looong time to get to ACH). But now that I actually start to trust my bike and myself on the bike, I hope to join you guys in the nearest future

jomei: I am not sure about dress pants and pantablo, but my helmet actually kills me, it fits snug... I guess a little too snug, after about 40-50 min of riding it starts giving me a headache and there's nothing I can do but stop and take it off for a while  :x At this point I am a negative budget student, so I am not sure when I'll get a new one, but at this point it's the only thing that spoils the fun (another one was getting lost all the time as I am used to highways too much and have only limited knowledge of streets, but I ordered a handlebar holder for my 60c and hope it won't be an issue any more)

As for the RSS, I just stumbled upon it while optimizing my computer and thought it would be nice to have this feature. I understand that forums are interactive, but at the same time I first of all the way you access the forum doesn't affect your interactivity I think. second, I am one of those half dead people you are discussing here   since I started visiting this forum regularly only a few weeks ago it is still more of an information site then community   although less and less so. So at this point I read way more then I post. That's where the idea came from. But no matter RSS or not this forum rocks!  :thumb: I think it's one of the best things I visit on the web daily now.... and yes I am getting addicted to it :)

What type of helmet do you have? I have a medium blue KBC here I paid out the yang for that I am not using. It is a bit big for the girlies, and it fits a little large on me as well. I went and bought two smaller ones just so I would have one for the females. Includes a helmet bag too... I would  possibly consider a trade for a yours if you would be interested.  It is a KBC TK-8 that I paid about $220 new for. You can email me at cronjob@gmail.com anyway, or if you are down for a short ride or some pointers I am there as well.

Welcome to the LA scene.  :thumb:
